Indium SMQ92H | SN62 Alloy | Type 4 | Tin Lead | No Clean | Solder Paste
SN 62 is a eutectic alloy, as is SN 63. SN 62 (62 % tin, 36% lead and 2% silver) melts and freezes at precisely 179°C. SN 63 (63%SN/37%Pb) melts and freezes at 183°C , four degrees higher.
SN 62 is a desirable substitute for SN 63 because it also is a eutectic. Some industry professionals feel that there is a greater likelihood of cold solder joints if a non eutectic alloy is used.
SN 62 has a lower melting temperature than SN 63 and the added 2 percent silver increases its strength. It is generally believed by many military users and others in spite of a slightly higher cost factor, SN 62s lower melting temperature and higher strength , is more highly reliable and desirable and worth the higher investment over SN 63.
SMQ92H is a halogen-free, air reflow, no-clean solder paste formulated for low flux spatter. It provides consistent fine-pitch paste deposition, and excellent stencil life and tack time. SMQ92H has a hard flux residue and can accommodate reflow temperatures higher than typically required for many Pb-containing alloys.
